The Business Intelligence Lead is a senior individual contributor and a key member of the Operations FP&A and Transformation team. This role transforms operational, financial, and workforce data into actionable insights that improve business performance and support informed decision-making across the organization.
The Lead independently owns assigned initiatives from initial problem definition through solution design, development, testing, deployment, adoption, and ongoing support. The role serves as the primary day-to-day owner for project scope, requirements, milestones, stakeholder coordination, data investigation, technical delivery, documentation, and training. The Lead is expected to operate with limited day-to-day direction and to engage the manager for strategic alignment, approval decisions, and support removing organizational roadblocks.
This is a hands-on technical and business leadership role and the successful candidate must combine strong business acumen with advanced capabilities in Power BI, SQL, data modeling, reconciliation, and analytical problem-solving. They must be able to move effectively from a business question to a technical solution, from analysis to insight, and from insight to a clear recommendation.
Key Responsibilities
-
Own assigned business intelligence and analytics initiatives end to end, including problem definition, requirements, scope, project planning, milestones, solution design, development, testing, business validation, deployment, documentation, training, adoption, and post-launch support.
-
Serve as the primary day-to-day point of contact for stakeholders across Operations, Finance, HR, and IT, translating business needs into clear analytical requirements, measures, data products, dashboards, and decision-support solutions.
-
Build, maintain, and continuously improve Power BI dashboards, scorecards, semantic models, and reporting solutions that support operational, financial, workforce, and strategic decision-making.
-
Write and optimize SQL queries to extract, validate, reconcile, analyze, and troubleshoot large datasets across multiple enterprise systems and databases.
-
Reconcile disparate data sources and establish trusted, repeatable datasets and metric logic suitable for management reporting and business decision-making.
-
Investigate data discrepancies and root causes, resolve issues within the role’s authority, and escalate material risks or cross-functional dependencies with a clear recommendation.
-
Analyze performance trends, risks, opportunities, and business drivers; form and test hypotheses; and convert findings into practical recommendations and measurable next steps.
-
Manage project scope, priorities, dependencies, and delivery commitments. Identify changes or constraints early and recommend options that balance business value, accuracy, timing, and maintainability.
-
Support transformation initiatives through KPI development, process analysis, performance measurement, reporting modernization, and adoption of scalable analytical practices.
-
Establish and maintain strong documentation for requirements, metric definitions, data lineage, business rules, testing results, known limitations, operating procedures, and ownership.
-
Ensure data quality, accuracy, consistency, usability, and appropriate controls across reporting and analytical environments.
-
Mentor project contributors and share technical and business knowledge when appropriate, without formal people-management responsibilities.
