6:00 a.m. Helped my husband get ready for work.
8:00 Got my son up for school.
9:00 Dropped my son off at school.
9:10 On the freeway and off to work.
9:30 My RF (Relief Manager) is already here. She's a ball to work with—funny,
great attitude, and good at what she does—which makes the day enjoyable.
10:00 A tenant came in to say "Hello" on her way to her space.
10:30 Made calls, collected payments, Webrap (collecting). Called my friend
at the Fountain Valley property to ask a question about an invoice.
11:00 Did a merchandise inventory count and faxed it to my friend at the
Newport property. Today there's a district manager working out of the office. He's
great to have around—he has a fun sense of humor. Did a rental for a nice young
couple.
11:30 My gardeners just left (I like them—they do a great job).
12:00 p.m. I walked the property and found a few units that had been vacated. I called a tenant who left a bike chain in their unit to see if they still wanted it. I printed notes for the auction that we are having today. We are selling 4 units because the tenants have defaulted on their payments.
2:30 Helped another property manager with an accounting issue and called
our hotline for support.
3:00 Took the golf cart to drive around the property ensuring that all paper and trash was picked up. This is how we make sure the property looks nice and clean for the customer.
4:00 Took a lot of payments (everyone's trying to avoid the late fee).
4:30 Tenants' little boy fell asleep on a moving blanket—they had been here
a few hours with the movers. I went into the office to cool off and then brought
them some water and let the boy sleep.
6:00 Drove home (traffic was good).
7:00 Fixed dinner then watched my husband show my son how to ride a bike
(he's only four years old).
9:00 Son and husband both asleep. Writing in my journal.
10:00 Bedtime.
